The Arlington Coalition of Police is a member
of the International Union of Police
Associations. We are the Local 48.
"The International Union of Police Associations is the
only AFL-CIO union chartered exclusively for law enforcement and
law enforcement support personnel. The AFL-CIO affiliation places
I.U.P.A. in a position of strength within the labor movement.
While I.U.P.A.'s officers, active and retired law enforcement
officers, fight to improve the lives of their brothers and sisters
in law enforcement, I.U.P.A. works to improve legislation that
protects and affects public safety officers, as well as representing
the needs of law enforcement officers and support personnel, whether
that be for better equipment, more staff or a fair wage."

Mission]
As the world of Law Enforcement and Public Safety continues to
evolve, so do we. In that spirit, ACOP has begun to work hand-in-hand
with our brothers & sisters of the Arlington
Professional Firefighters & Paramedics Association to bring
the needs and concerns of Public Safety together as one voice.
Goals of the Local 48:
- To organize the men and women of the Arlington County Police
Department.
- To secure just compensation for their services and equitable
settlement for their grievances.
- To promote improved health, retirement and death benefit programs.
- To promote the establishment and maintenance of just and reasonable
working conditions.
- To promote harmony between it's members and their employer.
- To cultivate friendship and fellowship among it's members.
